Travel Dream just a Direction not a Goal

To plan this travel dream journey we decided to follow a strategy. The horses aren’t strong enough to overcome big mountains. The carriage is too heavy for that.

No problem, when we stay on flat surroundings it will be ok. That brings us to our route.

North Sea-Black Sea

From the Netherlands we follow the big rivers. Starting off with the Rhine, follow that to the water junction Mainz-Wiesbaden. The place where the river Main enters the Rhine.

Rhine-Main-Donau-Canal

Halfway, to be specific at Bamberg, Germany the Main goes stream up further as the Rhine-Main-Donau-Canal. This canal is linking North Sea and Black Sea together.

Do you start to see the big picture?

This brings us to Kelheim. A small village at the junction Canal and Donau.The Donau will bring us trough Austria, (Vienna!) passes the border of Hungary meandering trough Bulgarian, Romania until the Black Sea! If you say it quick it does not seem so far.

Upstream

This dream travel with horses is only possible with this route. Otherwise the mountains are too high. Even now, travelling upstream will be hard enough. We travelling now near the Rhine River. Beautiful River, deep and very busy with Rhine barges. Mountains surround us. The road sometimes a bit narrow.

Close to the river we have perfect spots to stay. The sun shines, Aysha and Isabella rolling around in the grass. Perfect view on the river, people waving at us. What else do we want at this travelling dream?
