Society lifestyle choices: Horses and Champagne!
On our journey, we even can make society lifestyle choices. Since we travel near the Donau, it is more difficult to find a place to stay. There is a big dam besides it. Protection against the winter flood and we cannot see the river anymore. Because of that we travel more trough little villages and small city’s. Walhalla Picture above is from the Walhalla, a famous building on the river Donau. Its an outstanding example of architecture. The country is flat here and there are a lot of horse keepers and horse lovers. Many people are interested in what we do, how the horses handle this, and many other questions. The result of this, we meet al kind of different people in different environments.
Meadows After lunch in a small village, we plan to drive again when a man stopped. He loves the picture of us, the horses under a tree eating hay, we have some sandwiches. The man Peter is a driver himself and a recently retired architect. He does not own horses by himself but we can stay on his meadow. And a meadow it is. Wow what a garden.
Big grassland, normally for party’s, at the back changing into a big cornfield until the horizon. Beautiful view. Champagne Peter invites us for a drink and before we know, each of us, sitting near the carriage “zipping” champagne! Cheers! It is almost evening, the sun is soft on our skin, and this is life! With this informality feeling and casual unhurried behavior, we can live forever! Than a loud noise. The farmer, owner of the big cornfield decided especially this evening to harvest his corn! For the next four hours, there is a big noise, big machines, and dark clouds of dust.
Society lifestyle choices work out surprising. Luxury encounter Two days later, we have the second luxury encounter. It is hot and we stand behind a hedge, trying to catch some shadow. I walk a bit further because I hear clatter of hoofs.A big riding school appears behind the hedge corner. In no time, three woman surrounds us, lead by Sandra, an angel from heaven! She is the owner of this riding school including a big hotel! Immediately she takes over everything. “Water and shower for the horses. Come on with that laundry, we have big washing machines. You do not sleep this night in your wagon. We have plenty of rooms available!” Before we know, we have a room with shower, dinner ready and a lovely evening with this warm-hearted family.
