Journey to Happiness

This journey to happiness made us proud and happy about ourselves! The caravan is close to the Austria border pulled by two Haflingers. Its funny how are knowledge is still growing everyday. People are very excited to see us traveling and also we receive lots of compliments for that. It’s good they did not see us yesterday……

We follow the Main-Danube canal. This is the connection between North-sea and Black-sea. The canal is made because of the different heights in this area. They have made aqueducts in the form of a bridge that carries a canal across a valley or river.

Heights

Next at the canal is a proximal 8.20 feet broad bike road. Our caravan is about 7.22 feet. Before we know we are driving 165 feet above the valley, besides the canal, at the right I can see tiny little people and cars. I sit totally still on the box, holding my breath, while John is chatting to me, no idea how frightened I was.

Journey to Happiness through kindred spirit

The same day we search for a spot near the canal. It’s a bit difficult to find a good place. There is a big industrial site between city and river and it’s not clear how to entrance.

We try to find our way trough the busy traffic when somebody approaches us. It’s Bernard from a little village nearby and owner of big chunks of meadow near the river. He brings us to the nearest piece off grassland, 10 yards from the canal, totally quit spot!

Whit a beer in his hand, I am busy with making dinner, he explains John why he offered us a good piece of grassland. He is owner of 50 horses! As an entrepreneur, he builds and sells stables to clients all over the world. In the past, he joined the national team for horse driving. Won a couple of times ended high in ranks.

He observed us driving through the traffic, looked at the horse harness and condition of the horses. Totally satisfied what he saw. Its very nice and hart warming to hear compliments like this. This makes us happy. Travel in a happy way, hope we go on like this!
