Journey Quote: “it is a slow journey with much to happen by!”
This journey quote comes from a good friend when he makes his final examination pictures, finish off professional photography school.Let me explain why he speak those words! Let us wonder what can happen in three day’s on the road. Yesterday We had a passenger. Heinz the man from the horse collar and ARMY bucket. At the end of the day, he leads us to grassland. Nice place normally closed with a barrier, but open now. We stay there for the night.
Barrier Choosing that peace of land was not a lucky one! Next morning the barrier is closed. There is no way out, except when we will find the key! This is an evaluation moment! We still discus the opportunities when a little women in a tiny car appears. Behind the barrier, she looks at us, immediately knowing what we need! She jumps up and down, enjoying the carriage and horses.
Key search Before I know, I am in her car, driving around, a real search operation, to find the right key! The little woman knows what she wants! In ten minutes she manage to find a man from the nearby sporting ground, uses the same key as we need! Finally, John is still waiting at the gate; we are on the road driving. Fifteen minutes later the woman is back with her little car, a bottle of wine and an invitation to come over whenever we want to. Such a sweet gesture!
Blue VanBack on the road, again we see a blue van. A man struggle trough the high growing corn to our carriage. No, that can be. Yes it is. Heinz saw the barrier, wondering if everything was all right, searching for the Slow Express and found us. He offers us to take care of the wagon so we can do some shopping. We gently refuse that, we want to go on. With pain in his heart he say goodbye.
GrasslandAt the end of that day, we travel trough a little village, when an elderly couple weave at us. Herbert and Christine offer us a place on their Grassland. Herbert a fanatic driver cannot drive anymore. Parkinson disease is ruining its body. He shows us everything he has, horse equipment, carriages, even antique ones. We drink something together talking about what horses can mean in life. Great people, good people.
Journey quote: "never say never again"
River Main Next morning we leave, following the river Main. It is a quiet ride on a quiet road. In the afternoon, we arrive at small village. Grassland close to the water. A man walks by asking if we need hay. Yes! Ten minutes later, another man asks the same. We tell him we already waiting for another man. We regret that because the first man does not show up. Lucky us the third man ask us for Hay! Really! On the box, we count our blessings when a car stops in front of us. Man number one brings the promised hay!
Remember the first Journey Quote? : “it is a slow journey with much to happen by!” I do not say more Thea
