Journey Life and a short story about Hospitality

This journey life in Hungary with our horse drawn caravan never gets dull. We have a short story about it. We travel in Bakonybánk when we have to find a place to withdraw money. The village is too small for that, so we have to make another 9 miles to find one (a long long journey with horses).

Then its time to find a place for the night. It’s difficult to drive because we are not on every road aloud. There are many other horse drawn vehicles on the road because it’s still a common way to do so. Many of those cars are with a pole in the middle and one horse attached to it, instead of two horses.

Cars are expensive and the Hungarian people don’t earn that much. On the other way we found out that the public transport are cheap and very good organized.

Cold

The village we drive through is very quiet, no people on the street, maybe because it gets colder in this time. At the roads end we finally see two people working in their garden with a big meadow besides it. When asking, the meadow it isn’t their property but if we want to, we can use their garden path. A grass strip about 13, feet x 65, feet Good enough for the horses and us. Before we know, everything is ready, after 1500 miles we are really experts in building a fence for the horses.

On the moment we want to drink something, the other neighbors comes home. Very enthusiastic she offers us the big meadow. That would be great for the horses and we decide to stay another night and replace the horses tomorrow. It gives us also time to write about this journey.

Again we try to drink something and I say to John:" I don’t think I want to make dinner tonight” when our host knocks on the door. She cooked dinner for us and brings it on big plates including drinks and fruit. What a wonderful woman, I can’t believe this. This journey life never gets dull.

Celebrating Life

Because we don’t drive, tomorrow we decide to stay up long, talk deeply into the night and sleep a bit longer in the morning.

Knocking on our door

No way! About 8.15 the host knocks on the door. John immediately worried about the horses rushes into his clocks and opens the door. Everything is OK but if we want breakfast?

Whit two almost closed eyes, sleepy heads, the wrinkle marks from the sheets still on our face we drink very strong coffee trying to understand life.

Thank you!

Back at the caravan, on the box, the other neighbor has put little boxes with bread, fruit, a can with coffee, and fruit! Normally I can speak quit easy but now I don’t know what to say only: Thank you, thank you, very much.

John
