Multy Horsepower to Move the Caravan

We need more than horsepower to move the caravan. At John’s hometown Kerkdriel, we visiting family and friends, almost as a holiday. The caravan in the yard, the horses on a big meadow besides the house, we all drinking coffee with John’s aunt Bets.

Here we have time to sort things out. We are still too heavy and for the final time we collect things in bags and boxes to leave behind in the attic. It’s unbelievable what we still carrying with us. We carry too many books, too many clothes and shoes, tools, food etcetera. We have enough room and storage despite the 7 m2 however we only have 2 HP to pull it!

Sigh of relief

The trip from Oss to Kerkdriel was a special one. There are two way’s to get there, by highway crossing a bridge or through the fields and a ferry to cross the big river Maas. We had to take the Maas and his ferry. The horses did marvelous, no problem at all. It was very special to stay on the ferry in front of the horses, waiting to cross the river, watching the horses and stay calm. From the ferry, dam up, Aysha and Isabella had to use their muscles and speed to get over the top. Two horsepower’s, one carriage and two happy people with a sigh of relief .

Digging Deep

The weather is cold and it’s rainy. After a week we want to leave but the yard is very muddy. Very muddy and the wheels are digging deep into the soil. Aunt Bet’s neighbor comes up with a lithe tractor. It’s not enough to get the caravan out. No way can Aysha and Isabella do it. Another neighbor is passing, and when he see us struggling, he has no doubt and the caravan is on the road in only a few minutes.

Another neighbor lent us his pavement besides the house for the last night. Tomorrow we take a busy bridge with our horsepower again.
