Frugal Lifestyle not that cheap!

In this frugal lifestyle, we have more expenses than ever. The repairs and adjustments take a lot of money.Try to live a frugal lifestyle is not that simple. We do not need much but the horses and the carriage does!

In the last week we spend money on new tires after one of the tire was flat, cost 260 Euro. Turn out that all four caravan tyres had to be new. The rubber horseshoe do not work properly, so another 180 Euro for iron shoes.

We try to live simple and frugal. Grocery and food are normal to buy, but no luxury goods. We have to deal with the money we have, not on income now!

Beside that, “worry” we have spend some great adventures days already in Germany.

Crazy

On the third day, Isabella went a bit crazy. We enter a farm, she start to whinny and rise up on her hind legs. We try to calm her down but she will not listen. We leave the farm and let her run for a moment. Slowly she becomes calm but than a loud BANG! One of the tire blowouts. Again, Isabella takes a run. The carriage is heavier now but with the help of her Mother Aysha and John staying calm we stop after a while.

We manage the car to a parking lot besides the road. We know the tyres are not that good. Also knowing that Germany provides good and inexpensive caravan tyres. That is why we wait to buy them. Now it is the time. We contact a dealer and in 30 minutes, he arrives with one new tire. Invite us to the fabric the next morning. We can stay there for a couple more days. Great! We are not tied down to time! In this frugal lifestyle, we try to spend more time than money!

Next morning everything is ready for us. The mechanics have made a place for the horses, No problem to use the company shower and if we want, we can visit the city Julich nearby! They take care of the horses. It is like heaven. Normally we do not have the opportunity to do so! In no time, we are ready, acting like tourist.

Back on our feet again

Two days later, we are on the road again. New tires, the horses calm again. We decide not to buy new maps and still work with the old ones. We are not taking new highways anyway.In Binsfeld, a little place in Germany we find a spot by asking people in the neighborhood. One man’s grandfather had horses before. Now he wants to help us. He is very nice, brings water and we can do the laundry. It always makes us grateful meeting people like this. Hope we can ever do something back!
