Equestrian Transport
Organizing equestrian transport and listing all future points!Let me show you the outline: We are in the middle of organizing transport to bring Aysha and Isabella back. I am visiting John in the hospital, now three days ago, discussing the possibilities. We found a Dutch driver who is arranging equestrian transport between Hungary and the Netherlands on a 2-weekly base. He is willing to make a “little” detour through Czech Republic. After several phone calls, emails and debating the transport-price (760, - Euro) we settle the agreement for June 11. Aysha and Isabella are finally back in Holland then staying with Mariska in a little village north of our country.
Astonishing News Happy as we are we phone Petr, the Czech horse keeper, the final agreement. Petr is answering us with astonishing news: HE REPAIRED OUR HORSE-DRAWN CARAVAN! How is this possible? We can’t believe it. John and I are sitting on a bench almost falling backwards with this astonishing news!
Mixed Emotions After the accident, I traveled back to Czech and collect our stuff. The damage on our caravan after the head-on collision proves it’s impossible to repair it. Countless labor and innumerable hours of fun and pleasure is gone through the drain. With pain in my heart and tears in my eyes, I left it behind. Petr noticed these emotions and decide to give it a try. He hired two carpenters and re-structured the whole front and back, hiring someone ells for the brake-job. Petr wants us to have a choice (traveling further or not) rather than a forced decision. We pay about 500 Euro for it and together with the transportation cost; we can have our caravan back! We still can’t believe it. We are happy, confused and perplexed about this un-exspected initiative.
Both John and I have some philosophy in live who we act upon:
if you have to make a hard choice, do it, go for it, and don’t look back.

Rollercoaster Now we have to accustom our selves to the idea we still have a choice to go on with our journey. Does this sound ingratitude? That’s not what we mean to express! It’s the whole impact on us. First, the freedom life style for more than 18 months. Than the accident. John’s ankle and surgery, mourning about loosing all we have. Happy for all what is left. Adjusting to an unknown future, arranging a house to stay, making new plans.
It feels like a rollercoaster. Happy as we are with the news, we asked Petr a time-out to list all the points. He understands it!This weekend we talk and talk for hours. One thing is already clear to us. We can’t travel back from Czech to the Netherlands pulling the caravan by Aysha and Isabella; it takes about four months till John’s recovery. By that time, it’s to cold to travel back the 745 miles to Holland. The arrangements for equestrian transport stay at it is. Next opportunity is to transport the caravan back with truck or trailer. Yes, we have a choice again. Help!?
