After the accident
It’s the second and third day after the accident. John is still in the hospital waiting for an operation which is delayed because the hospital does not have the right equipment. In addition, his ankle is to swollen and maybe we have to wait till it’s dwindling down to “normal”. He is transported to another Hospital in Usti nad Labem. The message we get: You have to wait a week before we can operate. It’s all so confusing. The language problem and also the hospital culture and the waiting and waiting are devastating. John is in pain, multiple injections do not help much. Still we can laugh together, arguing and cry. Our emotions are going up and down. It could be all much worse. When John was dragging down the pavement, it could also be his head instead of his ankle injured.
The waiting and the unknown action everybody is taken around us, drives John mad. Not to mention the fact he wants to smoke but no possibility to do so. When I see an empty wheelchair I confiscate it and in no time we are downstairs, having a smoke. His leg on a bench, at last a little peace and sitting in the sunshine.
Our Hurdle Yesterday I have been to the horses. Well cared they stay on a stable, when they recognize me they start whinny. I can’t stop crying and still do behind this laptop. Do you remember our story with the blacksmith? Since then Isabella has change in her benefit. The day before the accident she and John where cuddling in the pasture. John with his hands in her neck crawling and Isabella softly with her lips and tooth’s on his arm and shoulder, perfectly in harmony. They don’t have a scratch even when the harness has broken during the impact. Vienna the little dog is already defending the farm where she is staying.
What to take? After the accident, I took all the important papers and laptop out off the van. The whole wagon is delivered by a towel truck. At the place of the accident I have throw everything, I could find on the street, into the van. A big mess and pieces of horse-harnesses everywhere.
The caravan is stored on the same place as the horses. It’s such a sad face to see our home, totally broken and stuffed away in a corner. The little flowers I was cultivating in a basket all gone. I have to take some clothes and important belongings and clamber into it. It’s a bit difficult to remember what I need in the up coming days. My head feels like a balloon and shows also like that!
The world is topsy-turvy After the accident it was chaos in our head. Now the arrangements have to be make and decisions to take. However, till the operation is done, we can’t make any plans. We want to go home, to our family. They follow us
also after the accident through this webpage
but it's not the same as actually been with them.
