Why we Undertake this Unplanned Journey, more about us

This unplanned journey with no goal is of much interest to many people. That’s great. But, how about us? For those who are interested! This is our profile.

As if we have telling in “to have a dream”, we are in our forties, almost fifties. We are a married couple for two whole years now. We met each other, how else, four years ago on the Internet. We made immediately “the click”. After three months, we already moved Johns computer to my house. Soon followed by books and books, his son, and even more books. My own to kids really get along very good with John and his son. They are all above twenty and independent young people.

About our thoughts before we start this dream journey

Juvenile Delinquencies

At that time John wasn’t working. Quit his job as Psychiatric nurse looking for a new perspective. He found this later when he starts up his own coaching practice. I worked with juvenile delinquencies, specifically with young dropouts from school. Nice job, good perspectives. In my free time, I was re-building my house, planning to live there for a couple of years. It did not go that way.

Together we bought a house in Breda. A small town at the South of Holland. Beautiful place, nice surrounding. The house big enough for two out of three children. One was studying already.

Then suddenly, things go fast. Second child flew out followed by the third. We got married and travelled to Ireland. Come back with more dreams and craving for more beautiful journeys. And than we sit home, on the couch, fantasizing what to do next. We both have a history of hard working. John has worked as insurance adviser, politician and in psychiatrics. Once I had a retail business in clothes fabrics, producing also wedding gowns.

Carpenter

The first job I start with was being a carpenter. Raise up two kids alone. Our focus was always on how to make a living. Now we have the time to focus on the nearby future choosing for what we really want. With this prospect in view we start to dream up.
